At St Joseph’s, we are proud to be a vibrant and caring Catholic primary school where every child is known, valued, and supported to flourish — ‘Growing the gifts God gave us’.

Our school is built on strong relationships, a sense of belonging, and a commitment to living out our Catholic character in all that we do. We strive to nurture the whole child — academically, spiritually, socially, and emotionally — so that each learner can grow with confidence and purpose.

Our dedicated staff work in partnership with whānau to create a safe and engaging learning environment. Guided by our core values of Respect/Whakaute, Responsibility/Haepapa, Resilience/Manawaroa, and Reach Your Potential/Pūmanawa, we encourage our tamariki to show care for themselves and others, to take ownership of their actions, to persevere through challenges, and to always strive to be the best version of themselves.

These values shape who we are as a community and help our learners develop the skills and character they need to thrive in an ever-changing world.

We are blessed with a supportive community and a rich heritage that continues to guide us today. Whether you are a current family, a prospective whānau, or simply visiting our site, we invite you to explore our website and discover the many opportunities and experiences our school offers.

On Ag and Pet Day (Thursday 24th Sept), we will have a Bottle-O stall.  This is a fundraising stall to help cover the costs of running the Ag and Pet Day.  Tickets will be sold at the stall, and if your number matches a number on a bottle, then you win that bottle.  Tickets will be $2.  The tickets will be sold at the stall on the Ag and Pet Day. Please do not send money now.

We ask you to please donate a bottle of something (juice, soft drink, body lotion, olive oil, shampoo, vinegar, etc.) to the school for us to have on the stall.  Please do not send alcohol,  as it is a school event.

We want to keep it simple and enjoyable, with no pressure or big commitment. If you have a dish you’d love to share, we’d love to hear from you!

Please get in touch with either Andrea Annabell 0273875000 or

LIVE IT Challenge Friday

Sun Jul 26 03:40pm

Afternoon all,

Our Cartias LIVE IT Challenge is on this Friday 31st July. Students will be experencing what is like to live in a shelter and have limited food for the day.

Each Mission Group will be building a shelter to eat and do some learning in. Therefore we are asking for students to start bring in NAMED  tarps/blankets and poles to school to help with building their shelters. Please NO tents. Give them to their classroom teacher before FRIDAY

Also on this day, students will experience what it is like to have less food.  Students are to bring a piece of fruit for their morning tea from home. For lunch students will be given 2 slices of plain bread. Yes this includes teachers.  Remember this is for only one day. It is about experiencing what is like to go without.

Throughout the day, students will be participating in a variety of activities to learn more how other children in poorer countries live, learn and have fun.

So starting bringing in your named tarp/blankets and poles.

Thank you

School Uniform – Campus Clothing

Mon Jun 29 01:53pm

Kia ora koutou

Following on from my message regarding our school uniform last week…

Most of our uniform is ready (aside for the culottes which are being made).  You can purchase online (see the link below) or in store, also open from 10-12 on a Saturday.

We have a variety of sizes now in our school office to try on if you wish.

PE tops will only be able to be purchased directly from us at school at the moment due to us having to purchase stock from The Warehouse.  They are just having the logo and school name printed on this week but will be ready soon. I will let you know as soon as they are ready.

Please have a look at the new uniform pieces –                  school track pantgender neutral navy shorts which can be worn as part of the everyday uniform and/or as a PE short and the navy school jacket.

Thank you so much for your patience around us getting this all sorted.

School Uniform update…

Mon Jun 22 02:06pm

Kia ora koutou

We have been working behind the scenes to get our uniform supply sorted out.  We are aware that it has been fairly hard going over the last year to purchase pieces due to low numbers and limited sizes, our apologies for this.

As much as we wanted to stay local we have made the decision to change suppliers to Campus Clothing in New Plymouth.  Our uniform will be able to be purchased online or in their store, which is open all week and on a Saturday morning.

We will hold samples of the uniform in our school office so that students can try sizes on if online is your preferred option.

Our uniform has not changed, however our new logo will feature.  We have also added a couple of pieces.

There is an option for a plain navy short which is gender neutral (with school logo). This could be worn instead of the culottes/grey shorts.  These navy shorts could also be worn for sports.

We have also added a soft shell, warm hooded waterproof jacket (with school logo).  This is a great option for winter before/after school as well as morning tea and lunchtimes.  It can also double for sporting events.

We have always had track pants as a winter option but we do feel this needs tidying up a little so have a plain navy track pant (with school logo) that will become the uniform.

The culottes are going to take a bit of time as we have opted for a better fit model, which requires them being made.  Blue shorts or track pants are option until these become available if needed.

We do not expect anyone to be changing clothing to move to the new logo, this will simply phase in as new items are purchased.

Due to contractual commitments we will hold all PE tops here at school to be purchased until we work our way through them.  They will also have our new school logo.  These will be ready (I hope) after the school holidays.

Campus Clothing should have our uniform all up on their website by the end of this week and are working though getting things branded and ready for us.

We will let you know as things become available.  In the meantime there are still some uniform pieces at the Warehouse which can be purchased.

Ngā mihi nui, Tracey

Parent Survey @ Conferences
